About
This course will teach you the critical role of Hydration in Human Performance. I'll start you off with some huge freebies you probably didn't know: Most people think they understand hydration, but did you know the first sign of dehydration is actually a hungry feeling? Yes, the initial thirst sensation is a similar feeling, and in the same place as your hunger pangs. Most people think they are hungry when they are really thirsty. As dehydration progresses, you'll see symptoms in this general order: -Hunger pangs. (It's the same sensation in the same area) -Pain (You feel pain where you have acid build-up irritating the nerves) -Asthma (You can't breathe if your alveoli dry out, so histamine is released to constrict the bronchial tubes and reduce moisture loss by reducing breathing. The mucous is produced to water-proof those air-sacs) -Allergies (Dehydration and histamine reduce immune cell production. You don't have the antibodies to fight the allergens, so your body must resort to flushing the eyes and sinus with water) -Dark yellow / decreased urine output -Fatigue and weakness -Light sensitivity (Tyrosine is the key precursor for the synthesis of the light-shield we call melanin, the pigment responsible for coloration in the skin, hair, and eyes. During dehydration, tyrosine and tryptophan are used up as anti-oxidants, leaving your eyes less protected from bright light.) -Decreased cognitive function -Dry mouth -Organ dysfunction (starting with kidneys) etc. You should expect a 4-6 X drop in Athletic performance for every 1% drop in hydration. So the fastest way to improve your performance is to get hydrated! If you're 5% dehydrated you are doing 20-30% less reps than you could be at your current level! Ready to see what you can really do?
